Pecha Kucha at India's Largest International Decor Mall
Hosted by us in Global Living Emporio, on Friday, 13th October 2017, the ‘Pecha Kucha’ event was presented by the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID), an apex, pan India, professional body with 30 Chapters(Centres) across the country. IIID Bangalore Regional Chapter is committed to encouraging “Social Design”, where the designers’ role and responsibility in society and the use of design processes to bring about social change, is a core focus.
The ‘Pecha Kucha’ Night (Japanese: a chit-chat evening) is a fast-paced presentation style for multiple speakers. During the sundowner event, 5 endowed architects exhibited their work in front of a keen audience. Our theme for ‘Pecha Kucha’, this time, was “Past Forward” - an attempt to remember where we have come from, and to move forward - both in terms of Design, and as a Community. Our extremely talented members Ar. Aparna Narasimhan, Ar. Girish Karnawat, Ar Nisha Mathew Ghosh, Ar. Smaran Mallesh and Ar. Rajesh Shivaram presented their works in line with this theme. We also had with us interior designer Mr. Jai Gorsia, who designs furniture for the rich and the famous. He has done a line of products exclusively for Stanley under the name ‘Gorsia for Stanley’, which is displayed in our stores. Mr. Gorsia addressed the most appreciative crowd about his work. The event concluded with after event party with dinner and some music.
